Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering the piano she had in her attic and being awed with the sounds it could create. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to take up music. It was not for the purpose of a career or as a hobby, but rather for the sake of growing. She began to write with her own music. As well as Bjork and Bjork, she also credits Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother encouraged her to perform her songs in public, not so that she could achieve fame, but rather to help others realize how important that they are, and the impact they could do to improve the world. In the age of 6 she started playing the piano and at nine, started writing songs. It wasn't until she was 14 that she revealed her plans to her parents. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. The actress claims that she likes making music. According to her, music is her favourite way of feeling something.
